What happens if we do not use all the minutes?

They stay on your code for 7 days. Ring the instant line again, give the same code, and carry on with whatever is left.

Do both people need their own phone?

No - one phone on speaker is exactly how it is designed to work. You and the other person sit with one phone between you and the interpreter translates both directions.

Is this a subscription?

No. An instant session is a one-off payment - no contract, nothing recurring. If you find yourself using it often, a monthly plan with your own dedicated number works out cheaper per minute.
